UTA Umpires Course – April 2025: Developing the Next Generation of Taekwon-Do Officials

The Unified Taekwon-Do Association (UTA) is proud to report the successful completion of the UTA Umpires Course – April 2025, a key event in our ongoing commitment to raising the standards of Taekwon-Do officiating. Held over the weekend, the course welcomed participants from across the country, each dedicated to enhancing their knowledge and skills in Taekwon-Do competition rules and officiating protocols.

The course delivered comprehensive training across all major competition categories, including patterns, sparring, special technique, and power test. Through an expertly designed curriculum combining theoretical study with practical application, attendees were able to build a strong, reliable foundation for officiating at national and international levels.

Under the guidance of senior instructors and internationally certified umpires, participants explored critical aspects of umpiring such as correct scoring, decision-making, maintaining fairness, and managing competition areas with confidence and professionalism. Realistic scenarios and practical exercises ensured that each candidate could experience and address the pressures of live tournament conditions, preparing them for real-world applications.

A Stepping Stone to International Umpire Certification

Completion of the UTA Umpires Course not only qualifies attendees to officiate at upcoming UTA events but also lays the groundwork for future international umpire certification. Those who wish to progress further will be well-prepared to attend ITF-sanctioned International Umpire Courses, advancing their qualifications on a global scale.

Supporting the development of skilled umpires is vital to the continued growth and integrity of Taekwon-Do competition. The professionalism and dedication displayed by all attendees were truly inspiring, and we are confident that their contributions will significantly enhance the quality of officiating across all UTA events.

Congratulations to All Participants

The UTA extends heartfelt congratulations to everyone who attended and successfully completed the course. Your commitment to upholding the highest standards of competition and sportsmanship reflects the very best of the Taekwon-Do spirit.

We look forward to seeing many of you apply your new skills at upcoming competitions, supporting the growth of Taekwon-Do, and advancing towards international recognition as certified umpires.

Thank you for being part of our journey towards excellence.
