BTC are pleased to present the 2023 Registered Instructor Course which provides NGB accreditation for all instructors with approval to teach BTC registered clubs. 1 year’s Public Liability and Professional Indemnity Insurance (which includes one club listing on the BTC ‘Find a Club’ database) is included in the course fee. This course is open to instructors of all BTC Member Organisations, who should apply via their Member Organisation, who will provide details of cost.

The BTC Registered Instructor Course provides updates and training on National Governing Body Policies and Procedures.

The schedule for the training session is as follows:

9.00-9.30am: ID checks and completion of Enhanced DBS/PVG Scheme Disclosure Applications for new and existing instructors.

9.30-12.00pm: Instructor Training on current policies and procedures:

Disclosure and Barring Service/PVG/Access NI Schemes
Code of Conduct and Ethics
Health And Safety (inc Risk Assessment)
Insurance
Inclusion
Social Media

12.00-12.30pm: Lunch

12.30-2.30pm: Basic Safeguarding Awareness Course – Protecting Children and Adults in Sport (separate certificate, a mandatory requirement for Instructors. This course is a prelude for Club Welfare Officers and Instructors requiring the NSPCC 2022 Time To Listen course.

Public Liability and Professional Indemnity from 1 July 2023 to 30 June 2024 is included in the course fee. This will need to be renewed annually for 2024-25 and 2025-26 prior to attending your next accreditation renewal course.

You will be required to show the BTC Tutor originals of your ID documents and bring copies to the course:

Passport

Driving Licence

National Insurance Number

2nd Proof of address dated within 3 months(eg. Utility Bill, not a mobile phone bill)

You are also requested to provide your BTC Tutor with a copy of your First Aid qualification or confirmation of a course booking. A First Aid qualification is a mandatory component of BTC Registered Instructor accreditation.
